I enjoy 2004 more that FSX. Just a personal preference. Having too many problems getting FSX to run as good. I think there is much more available that runs well for 2004. Seems like everything sold for FSX needs many fixes and patches. Once again, just my preference. <_<

I just purchased a new desktop with a 2.33GHZ Quad Core, and installed a 1GB DDR3 NVidia GeForce 9800GT Graphics Card (purchased separately).

I ran FSX for a few days, but noticed that some of the air planes "break up" when viewed from a certain angle. Also, FSX wasn't running as smooth as I had hoped. It still lags in certain places. I uninstalled it and ran FS2004 instead (no problems whatsoever).

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how do I correct it? I love FSX and want to run it again..

Fs2004 for me.

Hello to you. :)

Hey do you know if Flight Environment X can run on FS2004? Someone got it to work in FS2004, but I don't know who and how he/she did it.

I have FEX but can't install it 'cos I don't have FSX in my system anymore.

Yeah, well it odesn't lag big time, but when there's rain or something like that, it gets a little slow. What's your advice :)

I'm an FSX'er when I've got a PC powerful enough to run it. For the time being however, FS9 for me :)

There's probably some tool out there that will help with this...
I'll have a search, and I'll post when/if I find something...

Awesome. Very affordable, and there's even a student discount. In Malaysia there's no such thing. Even the cheapest Mac over there costs around 2-3,000 bucks...and student discounts are unheard of.

I use Fs9, because my PC can't handle FSX. Although I would use FSX, if my computer was more powerful, for GA flying, but Fs9 for commercial flying.

  • Interests:I have always been an aviation junkie ever sincew my dad took me to Maguire AFB when I was just 6 years of age. Wanted to be a pilot for all of my life and instead wound up a locomotive engineer. The rail buffs look at me in the cab and salivate at the thought of climbing in while I am steady looking up to the sky for another plane. I have about 30 hours real world but had to give it up due to financial considerations. Hope to resume one day if I live long enough. I Love what flight simulation has given me and am always glad to share with any who think I can be of help.

Hi
I run both on my pc. I have aCore Duo 2.4g,4gigs of ram and an Nvidia 9600 at 500 mb. FSX runs ok at medium settings. I get about 25 fps. But...I have FS9 maxxed out with every concievable add-on. I have Flight Environment and run 100% 3D clouds and no stutters. FEX is an FSX add-on. Does not work in FS9.
If you look for my posts in the FS Break forum you can see my $100 hamburger screenshots with the Beech A36 to see how good FS9 can look.
