OZx 3.2 Upgrade

From the steamy tropics of North Queensland to the cool temperates of Tassie - we bring you 10 more strips to test
your navigation and landing prowess. Prof has authored a string of "pearlers" across the Cape - just use the
Google Earth kmz's in OZx\User_Docs\Maps in your FSX folder to plan a tour. Mitch and Ed have a couple of rippers for the
Sandgropers, too. So for those of you who loved what we did before, here's more of the same but even better.
Ken and Prof have invented new grass and weeds to infest their fields and they're spreading them on their muddy boots.
Tony's done a beautiful little special request in NSW and we've called in the fence builders and retro-fitted fences to
some old strips with more to follow. So make a plan on a piece of paper, climb into your favourite bugsmasher
and head off to some weedy godforsaken little widowmaker of a scratch-in-the-bush airstrip.
Pit your wits and courage against the elements and bask in the satisfied glow of a well-executed plan and skilful landing.
Fly on Gamespy if you want to brag to your mates!

OZx NA 1.0

What a difference to Australia! In PNW, if you fall out of the sky you have a 40% chance of hitting a strip.
In populated areas they're only 1-2NM apart and even in the boonies they're often only separated by about 6NM.
But wow! Spectacular snow-covered mountains separated by abysses of dense evergreen forests, wild rivers and wild life.
Island hideaways for the wealthy, hunting lodges, logging camps... and how do you get to all these places? Bush aircraft!
So, in the tradition of OZx_AUS we offer you OZx North America. Select a taildragger or floatplane, preferably with
turbo for the altitude, and go bush. Beware the locals: bears, mountain lions, wolves, etc as they can be dangerous.
Always do a flyover to check for terrain, obstacles and animals. Our new skills, new utilities and new models make
OZx_NA our best yet. Get out there into the Wilds and have a ball!

Earth Simulations

Earth simulations has finally released its Isles of Scilly, and what a delight the islands are too! This photographic scenery is pretty unlike anything thats gone before it, raising the standard still further after the excellent work Earth Simulations did on Alderney last year.

Quote

The Isles of Scilly has now overtaken Alderney as Earth Simulations proudest achievement. It is the result of our wish to create the most realistic scenery experience possible using today's technology in Flight Simulator X. The Isles of Scilly form an archipelago off the south-western tip of the Cornish peninsula of Great Britain. The Islands have an almost tropical feel to them, comprising some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in this Island of Islands that we call Great Britain. The entire area has been modelled in the most painstaking of detail, and has been brought to life by the innovative design techniques employed here at Earth Simulations.
We sincerely hope you will be tempted to take a closer look at this scenery and that those of you that do will enjoy what we believe is the most advanced Flight Simulation scenery available today. We also think its a really very beautiful part of the world.

The feature list is pretty good too:

15cm per pixel photographic textures throughout the island chain
1.2m Hand edited Terrain mesh
Night Lighting
Traffic, both on land and sea, with bespoke models of the Scillilonian III
A integrated sound scape, which includes the tolling of the church bells, bird calls and the sound of the waves crashing on the beaches, to name a few!
Also included, for the true 'birds eye view' are three 'flyable' birds to try your hand at!
St. Mary's airfield is modelled about as close to reality as it gets!
Bishops Rock lighthouse, to the west of the islands, is landable, and included.
The list goes on - but you'll have to find the cows in the fields, the horses being trained etc. etc. yourselves!

Flight1 Releases Ultimate Traffic 2 - Power Pack

Flight1 Releases Ultimate Traffic 2 - Power Pack

Flight1 is today announcing the official release of the Ultimate Traffic 2 Power Pack: a FREE addon to Flight1's Ultimate Traffic 2 product for FSX. The Power Pack is an easy to use tool to that allows you to compile and import add-on schedules, create new schedules from scratch, modify or create airport identifiers, plus much more. Below you will find a few highlights of what the UT2 Power Pack provides:

Create Add-on Schedules Manually - The UT2 Power Pack includes the ability for users to manually create their own schedules from the ground up, one flight at a time. Users will be able to add smaller airlines that are not available on popular flight sim sites, special event schedules such as special military flights, charter airlines, virtual airlines, and/or use it to schedule GA traffic at your local airport. Virtual Airlines will especially find the tool to be a great utility because they can add their complete schedules to the FSX world.

Import Download Schedules - UT2 Power Pack users can import classic BGL style schedules, with the help of AIFPC or TTools, to create schedules and AI aircraft activity that is not already included with the software.

Airport Modification - UT2 Power Pack features an airport modification tool that will allow users, who have add-on airports that were not included originally with the FSX release, to add/modify these airports so UT2 can handle the AI Traffic scheduled to them.

Share Add-on Schedules - The UT2 Power Pack enables users in the Ultimate Traffic 2 community to share newly created schedules with others.

For more information on obtaining the Power Pack, please visit http://ut2.flight1.net/index.php/downloads/ut2-power-pack.html, or to read more about Ultimate Traffic 2, please visit http://www.flight1.com.

Flight1 Software release Ultimate Traffic 2 – Boxed Edition!

Ultimate Traffic 2 is now boarding...

It’s been a long time coming, in fact over three years of development, but we think it’s been worth the wait.

Re-designed from the ground up, Ultimate Traffic 2 provides Microsoft Flight Simulator X users the definitive AI-traffic upgrade, and still is the only package out there that provides computer traffic based on real airlines, flying on real schedules and now using realistic routings too!

There are over 1 million flight hours of commercial traffic and a further 2.5 million flight hours of general aviation flights– with vast flexibility and customisation on what you see and where. The all-new DX10 aircraft models give unparalleled frame-rates compared to other packages and you can even select a flight from the departure board and fly it yourself if you want!

So now you don’t just have to watch out for traffic, you can BE the traffic!

Ultimate Traffic 2 boxed edition is available from all good retailers, from the local hobby shop to high street chain stores. The boxed version and the download version (using Flight1’s popular e-commerce system) are also both available direct from Flight1 here: http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?search=true&filter=all&txtsearch=ut2list

Welcome to North America, and Orbx's most ambitious project to date. Over fourteen months in the making and led by veteran developers Holger Sandmann and Matt Tomkins, the FTX Pacific Northwest region is truly a stunning achievement which combines all the elements of the much celebrated FTX AU region series, but goes much further. With PNW, Orbx has amped the quality of the ground textures to the next level, and sourced them from pristine imagery to create beautifully crisp terrain even at ground level. There is over 2.5GB of fully seasonal and annotated photoreal for landmark mountain and wilderness areas above the tree line, glaciers, lava flows, as well as including photoreal Seattle CBD, the ports of Tacoma and Olympia, KPAE, Bonneville Dam and many other points of interest. Additionally Orbx has created brand new autogen textures, hand-crafted every square mile of landclass, added full moving traffic, 3D night lighting and much more! Finally, over 450 default airports in the region have been upgraded with custom buildings and objects, elevation corrections and other details. FTX Pacfic Northwest is available now as an instant download addon and soon on DVD from resellers worldwide.

Flight1 P-51D Mustang Updated!

Flight1 is pleased to announce that they have updated their recently released simulation of the P-51D Mustang. Following feedback and requests from customers, they have incorporated the following improvements:

-Greatly improved textures across all models with significantly improved blending and reflective properties.
-Inclusion of an additional NEW paint scheme: LOUIV now sports a classic wartime, ‘RAF Green’ in addition to the blue schemes seen on current restored aircraft
-The magneto switches have been altered so it’s not now possible to fly with the mags in the wrong position, no matter whether the aircraft was started automatically (CTRL-E) or from the checklist.
-The default FSX radio panel can now be switched on/off using the VHF Radio unit on/off switch in the aircraft. [/list]

The update is free to all existing owners who should follow the instructions on the product page.

The Flight1 P-51D Mustang has been developed on the real-life ‘Marinell’ and ‘Janie’ aircraft owned and operated by Maurice Hammond and with considerable input from P51 pilots. It now comes with a total 13 liveries plus a paint kit and comprehensive documentation, including actual performance charts and check-lists.

Priced at only $34.95 you can find out more here: http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=p51dmustang

Flight1 release the P51 Mustang!

With extensive research and help from a P51D owner-pilot, this is probably the most realistic development yet of the iconic WWII fighter.

Specifically developed from the ground up for Flight Simulator X, Aeroplane Heaven has made no compromises with the modelling of this wonderful warbird, which represents the actual aircraft ‘factory-fresh’ as in 1945.

Real-life pilots have been involved from the start of the development to ensure accuracy inside and out. WWII-era flight manuals have been followed to ensure that everything works as it should, from start-up to shut down.

Once in the air the help of restorer and experienced P51D owner-pilot Maurice Hammond has ensured this P51 flies just as good as she looks. Choose to fly Maurice’s own aircraft – ‘Marinell’ and ‘Janie’ – and you’ll even get to see Maurice in his distinctive helmet at the controls. Don’t forget to give him a wave when he taxis past!

Available to download now at http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=p51dmustang for just $34.95, see for yourself what it is like to take to the air in this magnificent aircraft.
